It seemed as if they seemed as if they were to have it much their own way, but the Northern eventually broke away, and several times caused Dunning to fist out. The Celtics scored first, A beautiful run by McCallum, in which he dodged cleverly all the home men. resulted in a second point in favour of the Celtic. They crossed over, the strangers leading by two. On resuming, the Northern had once or twice good tries, but could not get the ball through. The strangers were too heavy for them.
