Review

This well known Irish combination opposed the Whitefield at Copeland Park, Govan. At 6:30 MacLean kicked off for the Whitefield. The game at the commencement was pretty evenly contested. Eight minutes after the start Houston, by a splendid run up the centre, drew first blood for the Whitefield. This reverse, put the Celts on their mettle, and they equalised in less than ten minutes. The Celtic were now having the best of the play, giving the Whitefield custodian plenty of anxiety, and McLaren was the means of setting up two other goals to the Celtic score. Half-time was called, leaving it:- Celtic, 3 goals; Whitefield, 1 goal. The second half was just as the first, darkness intervening.

Result:- Celtic, 5 goals; Whitefield, 1 goal.
