It is anticipated that the thistle and Celtic will be the finalists for the North Eastern Cup, and should the former maintain the grand form they are in at the present, their supporters are sanguine of their being able to run the Celts very hard for victory.

The Celtic were in Sunderland playing the leading team there, the Parkhead men defeating the English combination for the third time this season.

Sunderland v Celtic –
The well-known Celtic organisation paid a return visit to the Wear borough on Saturday. On two former occasions on which these teams have met the Celts won by a goal. Play was keen, strong, and even up to the call of half time, when the register stood one goal each. The second half was a hard and determined tussle for supremacy throughout, the Celts having their work laid out in meeting the strong defensive powers of the Sunderland backs. Eventually the game resulted in a win for the Celtic by two goals to one.
