Sheffield Wednesday v Celtic – Played at Olive Grove, Sheffield. In fine but dull weather, before seven thousand spectators. Both teams had their strength. Wednesday won the toss, but kicked against the wind, and scored first; but the Celtic equalised before half-time. In the second half the Celtic pressed hard at the outset and Gallacher placed them in the ascendancy, Whilst Brandon miskicked through his own goal close on time.
Result :- Celtic, three goals; Wednesday, one.
