Rangers v Celtic – This match was played at Ibrox Park, Govan, before, 12,000 spectators. The Celts lost the toss, and kicked off against the wind. They were the first to press, and obtained a corner, but McMahon headed the ball past the post. The Rangers retaliated, and for several minutes they had all the play. Twice in succession they obtained a couple of corners, but nothing came of them. The game continued to be hotly contested, each goal being assailed in turn. Blessington and McMahon were in rare form for the Celts, but Gow and Drummond held them in check. The Rangers had certainly the best of this half, but could not find an opening. Half-time result: A draw – no goals. The Celtic opened the scoring in the second half with two goals and then the Rangers had fully the best of the game all through and improved as the game proceeded. Result:- Rangers, two goals; Celtic, two goals.
