  • This game was the first game played at the opening of new Hampden Park the then home of Queen's Park. The opening ceremony was carried out by the Lord Provost Sir John Ure Primrose, who went on to be chairman of Rangers.
  • A celebration of 50 years at Hampden was held to commeorate this game on the 31st October 1953.
