Match report from The Scotsman, 24th January 1921
[...] For the second year in succession, the Celtic left a point behind them at Motherwell, and on play the home team fully earned a division of the honours. It was a hard and fast game, contested under favourable conditions, a blizzard raging at times. Nevertheless, the exhibition served up was up to the best traditions of the clubs. The first half was goalless, the respective defences having the mastery over the opposing attacks. A goal fell to the Celtic early in the second half, by Cassidy, but Rankin was not long in securing the equaliser. From then on to the finish it was a stern struggle, but the verdict fell to neither side, and perhaps rightly so, for neither deserved to lose.
