Match report from The Scotsman, 17th October 1921 [...] Close on 12,000 spectators witnessed Celtic defeat Albion Rovers at Parkhead, Glasgow. It was a very even first half, with both sets of defenders playing a strong game. After twenty-two minutes McInally succeeded in heading a cross from McAtee into the net. Four minutes after Geddes equalised following a corner kick. After this the Celtic outplayed their opponents, and only the splendid defensive tactics of Penman, McColgan, and McSkimming kept down the score. Gilchrist scored a grand second goal, and fifteen minutes from the finish Gallacher, who was Celtic's most dangerous forward, got a third point. The Rovers' forwards were rarely seen in the game, and Reid had few chances of getting in a shot.
