  • Debut game for Tony Hepburn. Tony came in place of Charlie Tully who was at Windsor Park, Belfast playing against England. Tully scored both Ireland's goals in a 2-2 draw and confounded his opposite number Alf Ramsey.

Review

Celtic scored in 2 minutes with a flyer from Peacock. New bhoy Hepburn made the second, beating Redpath and Shaw before centring for Fallon to head home. Motherwell were described as 'amazingly inept'. Walsh scored from the penalty spot in the second half after being puled down by Paton.
