Review

Celtic returned to Parkhead somewhat chastened by their experience at Ibrox in the Ne'erday game. To combat the lack of incision from the forwards Bobby Collins was switched and Neil Mochan came back in but the defense which had been the main problem at Ibrox remained the same.
Raith had a good opening spell for the first 15 minutes and troubled both Stein and Bell. The Celtic forwards had failed to gel and Mochan had not seen the ball – and started to go wandering from his position at wide left. With Collins operating in a similar manner over on the right side these two started to dictate the play. Evans opened the scoring and Collins increased it ten minutes before half time. Five minutes after the interval Walsh atoned for a stack of misses in the first half and scored with a header. Just after that Raith pulled a goal back but Celtic never looked troubled by the Kircaldy side apart from the opening spell. A clasic Tully dribble-and-shoot goal put the capping on the game in the 70th minute.
