Review

Celtic kicked off with the breeze but it was Killie that set the early pace with the Celtic defenders having to work hard. A good move started by Tully came to nought before Celtic settled down to their close passing game. After 28 minutes Celtic got their reward. Two fierce shots from Collins came back as rebounds. Mochan latched onto the second and hooked the ball home. Two minutes later Toner downed Collins in the area but Killie escaped the penalty. Wilson scored a second two minutes from time from a McPhail flick.
The second half began with two Mochan specials which were off target. Killie were still attacking but they lacked direction. Twenty eight minutes into the second half Mochan again picked up a Collins rebound to shoot home. Just before the end McPhail smashed home a fourth goal made by some Tully brilliance.
All the Bhoys played well with the Scotland trio of Fernie, Evans and Collins standing out but the master on the field was Tully.
