      Review

A severe knock back to the title hopes particularly as Stirling Albion sat fourth from the bottom of the division and this looked like a solid 2-point banker. But that wasn't to be. Celtic had chances early on. But the Binos never gave up or retreated into solid defense as some teams had done this season. With the pitch cutting up badly Celtic redoubled their attempts with Auld going close on several occasions. Then seven minutes from time Stirling broke and Bowie crossed for Grant who took the ball in his stride and lashed home a fierce shot. There was still time for Bertie Auld to miss what looked like a sitter from a poor pass back.
Despite all their attempts Celtic could not put the ball past Taylor and the Binos held out for a decent win for them.
