Trivia

  • In an otherwise unchanged team Joe McBride came in for Willie Wallace, with Wallace going to the bench.
  • Chalmers missed a penalty in the last action of the game.
  • In the Reserve League on the same day at Brockville Celtic Reserves drew 2-2 with Falkirk. Quinn scored both goals for Celtic.
  • The players had fun chasing an alsatian dog that invaded the pitch with 10 minutes gone. It took over two minutes to round up the beast.

Review

Joe McBride's return to League matches lasted only two minutes. He was injured in a collision with George Gibson, the Falkirk left half and was led from the field with blood streaming from a gashed head. Willie Wallace came on as sub.
In 21 minutes Steve Chalmers finished a great goal. Auld's corner came in, Wallace back-heeled the ball to Hughes whose shot was headed home by Chalmers. Nine minutes later he got a second firing home a Gemmell lob into the area. Hughes got a goal just before the final whistle.
