Review

Celtic were in sparkling form with Willie Wallace having the game of his life at centre forward. Celtic led 3-0 at half time and the score could have been greater. Wallace picked off two goals with Lennox adding the third just before the whistle. Wallace's first came from a corner from Gallacher nodded on by McNeill, dummied by Hughes and there was Wallace to knock it home. Jimmy Johnstone seemed to be playing wherever he wanted to be and causing Kilmarnock no end of panic. Wallace's second came from a fine run and pass by Hughes. Lennox' goal came from fine work by Jimmy Johnstone.
Wallace added a fourth on 72 minutes and this also marked Jimmy Quinn's arrival for Bobby Murdoch who had been injured in a clash of heads. Quinn went to centre forward and Wallace dropped back to right half. Quinn scored the fifth and Wallace finished off with a sixth goal just before time.
