Trivia

  • Ex Celt Joe McBride scores twice for Hibees.
  • McBride's first goal was compared to the wondrous volley scored by Zinedine Zidane of Real Madrdid at Hampden in the 2002 champions league final against Bayer Leverkusen.

Review

Celtic were never at the races after Hood missed a fine chance in the first minute.

Hibs were better in all areas and Jock Stein acknowledged that the best team had won.

Ex Celt Joe McBride scored twice, the first being a memorable volley into the top corner from a Hamilton cross which gave Evan Williams no chance.
