• Jimmy Quinn took a heavy fall at the beginning of the second half and McNeill appealed to the referee, the quaintly named Carlyle Crockwell. After 4 minutes of the second half he ordered off McNeill much to Stein's disgust.
• The next day the local newspaper headline was : 'It could only happen here'.
