Trivia

  • Stanton now well settled in at sweeper and stabilising the defence.
  • A large crowd turns out as the fans realise Celtic have turned a corner.
  • Celts' captain Dalglish scores two cracking goals and is now rated in the £400,000 bracket.

Review

Dalglish is captain marvel again with another two spectacular goals. The first was a glorious high shot past Rennie and the second a well placed low shot in the corner. Motherwell had beaten Rangers seven days previously but never looked like repeating the feat at Parkhead.

The much vaunted partnership of Pettigrew and Graham were not seen mainly due to the presence of Stanton in the Celtic defence.
