BiogBrian Coyne

Gorbals born Brian Coyne came from a Celtic mad family and achieved a life time's ambition by signing for Celtic in late 1977.

He was a product of Celtic Boys Club and was farmed out to St.Roch's before joining up at Parkhead. Brian made one appearance as a substitute on April 17th 1978 when he replaced Tommy Burns in 5-2 victory over Clydebank at Celtic Park. Sadly, Brian received a bad injury in the 1978/79 season and Billy McNeill released him in 1979.

Brian went on to play for Shrewsbury, Motherwell and Falkirk and had a notable period as manager of Welsh club Newtown in the 1990's. He is still based in Wales.
