Synopsis

With the tie delicately balanced at 1-1 going into the home leg, Celtic Park was geared up for a dramatic evening against Spartak Moscow in the quest for Champions League qualification, though few could have imagined the drama that was to follow.

Amid the cauldron of a packed Celtic Park, two regulation time penalties were taken and missed; Spartak were reduced to ten men and Artur Boruc once again proved himself Celtic's penalty hero.
Relive every heart-stopping minute of the action with the full game, extra time and dramatic penalty shootout on this exclusive limited edition DVD.
From Scott McDonald's first competitive Celtic goal to the Bhoys' spot kick heroics, this is a victory to savour again and again as Celtic once more advance to the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Review

DVD - Russian Roulette - The Celtic WikiCeltic have released some questionable videos/dvds over the years but this must rank as one of the most pointless. A Champions League qualification game? Really? I’d love to see what the sales were for this. I got this as a Xmas present and only broke the cellophane off to review it. The fact the game is nearly 7 years old says it all.

Anyway onto the game itself and it is indeed just the game itself. You go straight to kick off. No team lines, no highlights from the away game to set the scene. Although the game itself was very important it wasn't much of a game to watch especially when you know the outcome. It was tense but with little goal mouth action. I’ll admit I fast forwarded through large parts of the game. Celtic rode their luck through most of the game. Boruc made a number of vital saves and the defence for once were excellent. This was a defence of Wilson, McManus, Caldwell and Naylor.
The penalty given against Caldwell was a crazy decision but justice was done when the penalty came back off the post and two minutes later Scott McDonald got his first Celtic goal. Lost an equaliser before half time after a poorly defended corner then we had the crazy moment of Boruc and Naylor almost coming to fisticuffs just before the half time whistle. Boruc was probably lucky not to be sent off as he had Naylor by the throat at one stage.
The 2nd half was fairly dull until the last 15 mins when Celtic really started to take Spartak apart and Naka had 3 great chances in 3 mins and fluffed all of them. Spartak had a man harshly sent off before Van Hesselink then missed a penalty.
Extra time was fairly nondescript before the penalty shoot out that had everyone on the edge of their seat. When Naka missed it felt as if it wall over but Boruc came to the rescue with 2 saves to put us through. Special mention to Van Hesselink who took one despite his earlier miss. Even the footage of celebrations are cut short.
I can pretty much guarantee this DVD will never again leave its case. A poor excuse for a cash in by Celtic.
