Dodds, Joe – Grave & Memorial

Celtic Graves | Player Biog

Not far from Tommy McInally in St Convals is Joseph Dodds who first played for Celtic in 1908. Formed a formidable full back partnership with Alex McNair. He was also one of the players who played in the 8 games in 11 days run to the championship. Joe played in 7 of those games.

Was part of the 4 in a row team and also won 2 league medals in the last of the 6 in a row side wins. he added a 7th in 1919.

Believe it or nor he left Celtic in 1920 because Cowdenbeath could offer him more money. Hew did return before leaving again over a dispute about a benefit game. He did return as an assistant trainer in 1936.

He easily lays claim to being a Celtic great and lived to the ripe of old age of 78 before his death in 1965
