Mark was a midfield player signed by the club in 1988 onto the groundstaff from Celtic Boys Club. He never started a first team game but made several representative Celtic appearances as well as playing in Reserve League West and Senior Reserve League games throughout his time at Celtic.
He won his first first full professional contract at the start of this first season and had played the previous summer in New Zealand. He had been offered trials and contracts by Manchester Utd and Rangers but he settled for Celtic. He was listed as playing in an U18 Celtic side in the Italian Youth Tournament in Viterbo in September 1989.
Mark continued to play Reserve and Youth team games through 1990 to 1992, made the bench in the pre-season Friendlies against Arsenal and Tottenham in 91/92 and made representative appearances against a number of sides in Friendlies and Testimonials through the 91/92 and 92/93 seasons.
On the 11/3/93 he was given a free transfer by the Club and told that there was no future for him at Celtic. He left to join Morton for a season before joining up with Steve Archibald at East Fife on 22/10/94. He was given a trial by Partick in July '98 staying with them for 4 months and playing 1 game for them before joing Alloa in October '98. He played for them till the end of the 99/00 season before retiring from full time playing.
Since retiring Mark has established himself as a respected football agent and runs Arena Sports Agent Management. He was Neil Lennon and Zurawski’s agent.
Unfortunately Mark never made it into the first team at Celtic but he was close to getting there and highly thought of as a midfielder at a time when the club was in turmoil and showed little enthusiasm to bring through and develop youth players. He was a valued player and in fact he had a long time with the reserves, was well thought of but never seemed to make it full time to the main squad.
