Haakon Lunov, first team coach
Haakon Lunov was appointed first team coach by Ronny Deila in July 2014. They had previously worked together during Deila's time as manager at the Norwegian club Stromgodset, with Deila bringing him to be part of his backroom squad in Norway and continuing the association with Deila's appointment as Celtic manager. Lunov's principle focus is on match analysis and team preparation to face opponents. He has studied teaching methods and psychology at the University of Oslo whilst also possessing a background in Sports Science.

A graduate in Sports Science from John Moores University, Liverpool, he had undertaken work with Everton during his time in Liverpool. On returning to Norway he took up a position with another Norwegian team, Odd Grenland before moving on to work with Deila at Stromgodset where they worked together for three years.

Deila said of him, "Haakon has extreme expertise in analysis. He's ambitious and very concerned with development. We have been looking for someone like him and we now have a great resource."

Of himself he says, "There's a need for graduates in football. In most big clubs in Europe, there's a mix of coaches with a playing and academic background."
