Biog

The nephew of the legendary Celt Andy McAtee, Anthony was a Maryhill Harp player who joined the Bhoys in August 1942. He was said to be "hard as nails".

A miner by trade, Tony was a robust outside left who also had an eye for goal. His Celtic debut came in a 2-2 Regional League draw at home to Hamilton on August 22nd 1942.

He went on to make four Celtic first team appearances and scored one goal before being freed by the club in May 1943. It was a poor time to be at Celtic, not only due to the war effort and hard to say what could have been if circumstances were any better.
