Biog

Stocky red-haired right-back William McCallum signed for Celtic from Hibernian in 1890 and made his debut in a 1-0 Scottish Cup victory at home to Rangers on September 6th. By trade he was a printer for the Glasgow News and Celtic's reserve team skipper.

Captain of the reserve side, Willie’s first team opportunities were limited and he made only three appearances. The Kilbirnie-born player joined West Bromwich Albion in January 1892.
