Biog

Inside-left Jimmy McGowan spent just over two seasons at Celtic after signing from Armadale Thistle in August 1942.

McGowan’s debut came in a 2-2 Regional League draw with Hamilton on August 22 1942 at Parkhead.

The Cambuslang-born player made a total of 23 appearances and scored 5 goals before being released in November 1944.

He later went on to play for Grimsby and Southampton.
