Centre-forward Lauchlan Mclean's brief Celtic career began when he was signed by the Parkhead club in August 1909 from Inverness Clachnacuddin.

His competitive debut for the Hoops came on November 27 when the Celts won 1-0 at Aberdeen in a league tie. Lauchlan departed Parkhead for Preston North End in May 1910 after just two more competitive appearances. However, he has the proud personal record of having played in 3 winning competitive games out of 3 with Celtic.

The Irishman went on to play for St Mirren and Inverness Caledonian. At Preston, he was one of three McLean's in the side: one was English, one was Irish and he was a Scot.
