1st 1950: Goalkeeper Willie Miller leaves Celtic and joins Clyde.

1951: Celtic defeat Aberdeen 3-2 (having been two goals behind) at Hampden to claim the St Mungo Cup.
2nd 1981: Celtic beat Dukla Prague 2-1 in Rotterdam to win the final of the Feyenoord Tournament.
3rd 1974: Celtic beat Rangers 4-2 on penalties at Hampden to win the Drybrough Cup final for the one and only time. The game finished 2-2 after extra time with Jimmy Johnstone scored the winning penalty..

1997: Henrik Larsson makes his Celtic debut in a 2-1 defeat at Hibernian.
4th 1888: Celtic played Hibernians for the first time in a 3-1 Friendly win at Easter Road. The match had to be abandoned due to a crowd disturbance amongst the Hibernians fans.

1891: Neil McCallum missed Celtic's first ever penalty kick. Morton 2-5 Celtic
5th 1951: Gil Heron signs a full time contract with Celtic after a succesful trial

1995: Return to Paradise - Celtic Park re-opens with a friendly against Newcastle United. Rod Stewart opens the new 26,000 seater North Stand.

2009: Tony Mowbray records his first win as Celtic boss with a superb 2-0 victory at Dinamo Moscow as the Hoops record a 2-1 aggregate triumph in a Champions League qualifier.
6th 1960: Celtic take on Sedan in the Anglo-Franco-Scottish-Friendship Cup. The fitst-leg game is played in Lens and the French club are victorious by 3-0. As part of the tournament rules Celtic wear yellow numbers on the back of their hooped shirts. The second-leg at Parkhead in October would end a 3-3 draw.
7th 2002: A Shaun Maloney goal helps Celtic to a 1-1 draw in a friendly with Tottenham Hotspur.
8th 1950: Chic Geatons resigns as coach

1979: Celtic beat the China national side at Parkhead by 6-1 in a pre season friendly.

2001: Celtic beat Ajax 3-1 in Champions League qualifier in Amsterdam.
9th 1987: A crowd of 43,000 attend Celtic Park for the Tommy Burns testimonial in which Liverpool defeat the Bhoys 1-0.
10th 1891:Dan Doyle signs from Everton.

1895:Barney Battles makes his debut in a 2-1 victory over Dundee.

1935:The future Celtic Captain Willie Lyon makes his debut against Aberdeen.

1977: Kenny Dalglish leaves Celtic and signs for Liverpool in a £440,000 deal.
11th 1962:Lisbon Lion Bobby Murdoch made a scoring debut for Celtic in a 3-1 victory over Hearts at Celtic Park.

1965: First issue of the Celtic View published.

1979: The 1979 League flag is unfurled at Parkhead before Celtic's 3-2 win over Morton.
12th 1972: Jock Stein tackles sectarianism in the Celtic terraces

2007: Celtic Ladies play their first ever game as they lose 2-1 to Hamilton at Barrowfield
13th 1938: Celtic thump Kilmarnock 9-1 in a league encounter at Parkhead.

1960: John "Yogi" Hughes makes his Celtic debut in a League Cup game against Third Lanark which Celtic won 2-0.

1977: Celtic raise League flag before opening game of the season v Dundee United (0-0). They wore the Celtic badge on the hoops for the first time ever and this did not go down well with some fans.

14th 1965: Brazilians Fernando Consul and Yorge Fara arrieve at Celtic Park for trials.

1978: Jock Stein is given a terrific send off when 62,000 fans turn out for his testimonial game against Liverpool. Celtic lost 3-2 on the night.

1992 - Celtic make three signings in one day as boss Liam Brady unveils new Bhoys Rudi Vata, Andy Payton and £1.5 million man Stuart Slater
15th 1903: Celtic wear the Hoops for the first time as they defeat Partick Thistle 2-1 in a league tie at Parkhead.

1990: Dick Beattie the Celtic goalkeeper in the famous 7-1 League Cup Final victory over Rangers in 1957 died in Old Kilpatrick aged 54 years.
16th 1890: First Scottish League match, Celtic 1-4 Renton

2008 - Celtic sign Dutch defender Glenn Loovens from Cardiff City.
17th 1944: Bobby Murdoch born in Bothwell, Lanarkshire.
18th 1934 - Celtic fans witness the debut of a future all-time great when Jimmy Delaney makes his competitive Hoops debut in a 0-0 league draw with Hearts.

1979: 10 man Celtic come from 2-0 down to snatch a draw with two late goals at Ibrox on the day that Rangers opened their new Copland Road stand. Aitken was ordered off but Sneddon and McAdam scored the goals.

1983: John Kennedy - the grandson of the great Jimmy Delaney - is born, Bellshill, Scotland
19th 2010: Celtic defeat Utrecht 2-0 at Parkhead in a Europa League qualifying tie.
20th 2005: Ref Stuart Dougals sends off Alan Thompson and Neil Lennon as Celtic are defeated 3-1 by Rangers in a controversial league clash at Ibrox.
21st 1983: Scott McDonald born, Melbourne, Australia

2002: The BBC in Belfast receive a phone call claiming to be from the Loyalist Volunteer Force warning that Neil Lennon would be "seriously hurt" if he played for Northern Ireland that night against Cyprus
22nd 1890: Peter Dowds becomes the first Celtic player to net a hat-trick in the league as the Bhoys defeat Cambuslang 5-2.
23rd 1880: Jimmy McMenemy born in Rutherglen

1958: Billy McNeill makes his debut in a 2-0 win over Clyde in a League Cup Tie.
24th 2000: Mark Burchill scores the fastest hat-trick in Celtic history with three goals in a little under four minutes as the Hoops thumped Jeunesse d'Esch in the UEFA Cup at Parkhead.
25th 1993: Andy Payton becomes the first - and so far only - Celtic substitute to come off the bench and bag a hat-trick as the Hoops crush Arbroath 9-1 in a League Cup tie.
26th 1970: Danny McGrain makes his debut in a 2-2 against Dundee United at Tannadice.

1997: UEFA CUP 2nd Qualifying Rnd, 2nd Leg. Celtic beat FC Tirol Innsbruck 6 - 3 at Celtic Park.
27th 2000: Celtic thrash Rangers 6-2 at Parkhead.

2003: Celtic's 100th home European tie. A 1-0 win over MTK Hungaria, puttimng Celtic into the CL group stages.
28th 1994:Neil Mochan dies in Falkirk Infirmary
29th 1973: Bobby Murdoch plays his last game for Celtic at Gayfield Park as Celtic beat Arbroath 3-1. He moved to Middlesbrough a couple of weeks later.

1987: A Billy Stark goal gives Celtic a 1-0 victory over Rangers at Parkhead.
30th 1943: Bobby Lennox born in Saltcoats, Ayrshire.
31st 1949: Bertie Peacock the Captain of the famous 7-1 team made his debut in a 3-1 defeat to Aberdeen.

1986: The first live TV broadcast of a Celtic and Rangers league clash sees the Bhoys lose 1-0 at Ibrox.
