Panini – Before They Were Celts

Below are a selection of stickers taken from various Panini albums. They show various Celtic managers and coaches in their playing days.

Tommy Craig – (First Team Coach 1987-91)

This sticker is taken from Panini's 'Football 80' and shows ex-Aberdeen and Newcastle man Tommy in his time with Swansea City, then in England's Football League Second Division (now known as 'The Championship'!).

Liam Brady – (Manager 1991-93)

This sticker from Panini's 'Football 80' shows Irish legend Liam Brady in his days as an Arsenal hero. Brady would go on to play for Juventus, Sampdoria and West Ham before he turned his hand to management at Parkhead.

Mick Martin – (First Team Coach 1991-93)

Liam Brady's right hand man at Celtic, Mick was a Reublic of Ireland international who played for, amongst others, Manchester United, West Brom and Newcastle. This picture from Panini's Football 80 shows the Dubliner in his St James Park days.

Martin O'Neill – (Manager – 2000-05)

Martin O'Neill made his name as a European Cup winner with Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest. This sticker from Panini's 'Football 80' collection shows the Derry man in his City Ground days.

John Robertson – (Assitant Manager – 2000-2005)

Martin's right hand man at Parkhead, Scotland international John Robertson was a superb winger and team-mate of O'Neill at Forest. This sticker is taken from Panini's 'Football 80'.

Steve Walford – (First Team Coach – 2000-2005)

Another of Martin's faithful sidekicks, Steve Walford was a Londoner who started his career with Tottenham before joining Arsenal and then moving to Norwich. The defender returned to his home city in 1983 when he joined West Ham. These stickers are taken from Panini's 'Football 80' and 'Football 86'.

Gordon Strachan – (Manager 2005-Present)

The current Parkhead boss began his career at Dundee but it was with Aberdeen that he really made his name. He would move south to enjoy FA Cup success with Manchester United before winning the title with Leeds United. These stickers are taken from Panini's 'Football 80' and Football 86' collections.

Garry Pendrey – (Assistant Manager 2005-Present)

Garry Pendrey started his football career with hometown club Birmingham City and made more than 300 appearances for the Blues before moing to near neighbours West Brom. He would later join Torquay and also played for Bristol Rovers and Walsall. This sticker is from Panini's 'Football 80'.
