Celtic Park
Hi Joe: Camillo had found 2 pic's of mine w/ Rory Og O'More band in Celtic Park in 1914 but the photo may have been from 1906? Could Camillo put the photos up again on this page.? I would appreciate i think the photos may have been taken on the CFC goal end. I'm sorry I don't know the correct term. In my photo it shows the white picket fence, the terracing but no pavillon /roof that is seen in some of the photos on the 2 long ends of the field. The photo looks like the bottom 2 pic's. If anyone could help pinpoint the date that the photo was taken it would be great. thanks again for the great website and your assistance, Eileen:) I'm sorry I can't get the photos up myself b/c the computer I put them up on ancestry died and I can't access them. Thanks again!

Couple of player nationality alterations?
Zheng Zhi became our second player from China (after Du Wei).
Also - Tony Warner is down as 'England' but he has an international cap for Trinidad and Tobago.

Celtic Ladies
I've attempted an update of the Ladies squad ahead of the new summer league campaign.
Albeit my info's the result of googling Celtic and Scotland squads and might well be dodgy.
Granted the women's game is not everyone's cup of tea, but as Celts we should be setting an example in this regard. And if any of KDS's ghirl contingent has additional info then please get involved and help us out.

New Stand Celtic Park Pic
Gedboy this pic is invaluable. It's the same one as the pic 8 pics above, but your pic hasn't been cropped.
It shows the first "Jungle" which went up in 1905 after the original enclosure at that side (which was seated at the back and terraced at the front) was burned down in 1904. It has in fact two arches, one at either side of the half way line. There is video footage i've posted on the main forum of this era and i'm sure it can be added to this page. It was re roofed in 1929 and that side of the ground became known as the Hayshed for obvious reasons (3 pics above yours). At the same time the Pavillion was burned down so the possible reason for the re roofing was fire damage from the nearby Pavillion. Remember the Main Stand (2 pics above yours) replaced the Grant Stand in 1929 so it's fair to say that the lay out of the ground changed dramatically that year with a new Main Stand, reroofing of the enclosure opposite and the raising of the Pavillion.
To answer your question judging by the strip we wore i'd say 1905 is accurate for the year the pic was taken.

what fergus mc cann did for celtic should never be underestimated, history will be a lot kinder to his legacy than his critics in the press ever will be,thanks fergus for giving our club back to us in such a healthy state so much so that bad management still cant put us back in the red, come back fergus you are the man to put a rocket under the current mob in charge,he deserved the money he left with(and then some) funnily i was just thinking the other day about what could be done to the stadium as it is starting to age a little, such as a new main stand to fit with the rest of the stadium and maybe a new roof system to take the pillars down thus taking restricted view seats out of the ground.with a new stand in place to the att would be a possible 80,000.i know there has been a drop in attendance but with extra seats the ticket prices could be lowered and the stadium would be full-celtic are big enough to easily fill 80,000 seats.now would be a good time to speculate to accumilate, buildin costs are lower than ever and in the economic climate we could get it done to tender thus getting companies to fight to build it,looking at it it would be somehow remiss not to take the plans further, more seats mean more income even if the price is lowered.then we could also look to host both the uefa finals, also if we where to redevelope lennoxtowns old hospital(listed building) into a hottel complex we coud host our european opp and make money that way.pop concerts in the summer could be held at both sites as lennoxtown is only 1\4 finished(supposedly)celtic has a big enough global support to fill the bigger stadium,so come on peter lawell get moving it would be missmanagement to not look into this at the very least, the fans could swing it,so speak up anybody else fancy celtic as leaders in the world game, know is the time for brave hearts, lets get celtic back to past glories, its where we belong. brother walfrid willie mallie ,jimmy mcgrory, jock, jinky, and tommy burns would be proud

The first pic of the old and new Celtic Parks
What newspaper did that pic come from and what's the date? I need to prove exactly where the first CP was for a book I'm writing on sports architecture in Glasgow. Thanks.
