Dubious date
I'm sceptical that this is a '55 game for several reasons:-
1) John Higgins was definetly out of the frame to play in this game. he'd just undergone cartilage surgery
2) I can find no record of it in the newspaper archives
3) Willie fernie was also out injured at this time
4) The team line up looks like a '56 team and I think the likelihood is that this is 7/4/56.
31/3/56 against Airdrie reads beattie, haughney, meechan, Goldie, Evans, Peacock, McAlindon, Collins, Mochan, Fernie, Tully
10/4/56 v Aberdeen reads beattie, Haughney, Fallon, Goldie, Evans, Peacock, McAlindon, Craig, Mochan, Fernie, Tully.
Higgins was back in the team late April '56 but Higgins' appearances are thin on the ground in '56 - he only made 7 games all league games.
