Match report from The Scotsman, 26th April 1920

[…] The Celtic had an easy win over Ayr United at Parkhead, Glasgow, but the visitors were not so badly beaten as the score would seem to indicate. Three minutes from the start Mackay scored for the Celtic, and before the interval Craig got another goal. After the change of ends Mackay and Watson increased Celtic’s lead.

The Glasgow Herald – 26 April, 1920
Though without the services of several of their usual team, Celtic gave a convincing display in their match with Ayr United, the score 4-0 in no way exaggerating their superiority. The extent of the win was mainly down to the cleverness of the youngest forward line which has represented the Parkhead club for many years.
