Review1959-03-14: Stirling Albion 1-3 Celtic, Scottish Cup - The Celtic Wiki

McKechnie won the toss for the Binos but for some strange reason chose to play against the wind. Celtic made the most of the advantage and began to attack regularly through the rain, wind and mud. Divers scored the first from a pass by Lochhead. Celtic continued to pile on the pressure and the game was played at a fast pace. Wilson scored the second from a strong cross. Two minutes into extended time in the first half Lochhead got a third goal and Celtic went into the inetrval with a commanding lead. Despite playing against the wind and the weather in the second half the young Celts still piled on the pressure. Jackson should have scored and there was an appeal for a penalty when the same player was chopped down. Ten minutes from time Kilgannon got a consolation goal for Stirling but the game had been one of Celtic domination.
After the game there were appeals to referee Phillips about playing two minutes of extra time at the end of the first half which allowed Celtic to score a third goal. There was also quite legitimate concern about Kilgannon's goal for Stirling when her appeared to be at least two yards offside when he received the ball.
