Review

Celtic gave a trial to German player Dieter Knepper who had returned with the side from Salzburg after Celts' recent European Cup elimination by SWW Innsbruck.
Alfie Conn had a good run out and despite the slippery conditions made some good runs before in the 33rd minute picking up the ball, beating four defenders to shoot home.

Young Celt Brian McGrane played at right back and tragically died the following month after complications following an operation.

The match at Douglas Park was abandoned after 60 minutes due to torrential rain.
