Details
Barney Battles was buried in Dalbeth (Section 3A, Lair 412) and an incredible forty thousand Celtic supporters and others followed his cortege from Sacred Heart church in Bridgeton to the graveside. A simple headstone for a true hero on the football field.

Pre-2011
It’s a small headstone and is often hidden behind a huge bush in the older part of Dalbeth, close to many of the Club’s founders.
Following a visit by a supporter (July 2010), an effort was made to tidy up the burial site of Barney Battles, and what a great difference it has made.
March 2011
The Celtic Graves Society through raising of funds and support, renovated the lair and replaced the headstone for a fitting tribute to our hero.
