Synopsis

Product DescriptionBooks - The Celtic Football Miscellany - Kerrydale Street

There is something for every fan in “The Celtic Football Miscellany”. The world-famous Scottish football club has a widely diverse and amazingly successful history, but this book is not exclusively a history, or a fan’s guide, or a collection of biographies, or an encyclopedia. It is a little bit of all of these things. Within these pages, the reader will learn hundreds and hundreds of quirky and obscure facts about the Boys on a wide range of topics, from the history of the club’s famous hooped shirts and paradisiacal home ground, to the European glory nights, famous managers, and match-day facts and stats. Much more than a book of lists or compilation of trivia, “The Celtic Football Miscellany” will bring hours of reading pleasure to fans of the Hoops.

About the Author John White is a lifelong football fan that has dedicated his spare time and his computer to compiling a impressively comprehensive database of sporting facts and figures. He is the author of all 10 of the titles in Carlton’s best-selling sports miscellany series. He lives in Co. Down, Northern Ireland.

Review

Crammed with lists, stats and trivia The Celtic Football Miscellany is an ideal read for those who like their football history in bite-sized chunks.

Author John White covers a vast array of Celtic-related subject matters with a scattergun style that means that while a little disorientating there is not a single page without at least something of interest. Perhaps not the most rewarding of Celtic-related tomes, The Celtic Football Miscellany does contain more than a few gems of information and is ideal for a quick dip into that deep pool which is the history of the Hoops.
