(from Bobser of TheCelticWiki)
My Dad took me to this game for my 15th Birthday present. My Birthday was on the 18th of April. As Celtic drew the Semi Fnal first game, I had an agonising wait until they won the replay. then it was all go for the final.

At the time, we were living in Aberlour on Speyside and we had to get to Aberdeen to catch a train from there to Glasgow. As my Dad didn't have a car at the time he managed to borrow one and we drove to Aberdeen where we caught the train to Glasgow Buchanan Street then onto Mount Florida. I remember walking towards Hampden and being amazed at the height of the floodlight pylons and the number of fans making there way there.

I can't remember too much about the first half but I certainly remember the second half, particularly Billy's goal. In my mind's eye I can still see Charlie swinging the ball over and Billy rising high above everyone to head what was to be the winner. I also remember well John Fallon swinging from his crossbar.

We had seats in the South West Stand so we had a good view of the cup being presented to Billy. After that I am afraid everything is a bit of a blur until we arrived home abou 0100 to be met by the rest of the family who were also delighted.

What a day and luckily it was the start of many.
