Ian McLeod | Celtic Board – Past | Celtic Board

Celtic have named Walmart director Ian McLeod as their new chief executive. He will join the club in April when he leaves his post as executive director and chief merchandising officer for Walmart in Germany. McLeod, a season ticket holder at Celtic Park, will also chair the football club board. He replaces Allan MacDonald whose contract was terminated shortly before he was due to leave the club after he made allegations about the workings of the Celtic board.

The chief executive designate said: "It is a tremendous honour to be associated with Celtic in any capacity but I am especially pleased to have the opportunity to represent the club at such a promising time. "I am in an ideal position to understand the debt of gratitude that Celtic owes to its supporters for their faithful support as we enjoy a season of unparalleled success on the football field."
Brian Quinn, Celtic plc chairman said: "I am very pleased to welcome Ian McLeod to his new position as chief executive of Celtic. "Ian has had remarkable success in his career to date and possesses the ideal qualities to drive Celtic forward. "The personal and professional specifications the board of Celtic set for this post were of the highest level. "We were very fortunate to find someone who matched these expectations and whom we know will bring to the role experience of motivational management and extensive knowledge of the global business market at a time when Celtic aims to fulfill its brand potential worldwide." McLeod is a business studies graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University and also attended Harvard Business School.
