Review

Despite playing in the number 4 shorts Willie Wallace was fielded up front and this improved Celtic from the first game. Celtic started the game at a cracking pace determined to impose their authority from the start. In 2 minutes Lennox turned the ball in after McCulloch had saved a Chalmers shot and in 22 minutes Auld cracked in a great goal after Chalmers' clever header set him up.
After that the game was as good as over and Celtic ran out convincing winners. Jimmy Johnstone went off with a leg injury after 57 minutes to be replaced by the substitute John Hughes.
