1967-10-28: Celtic 5-3 Dundee, League Cup Final - The Celtic Wiki

Review

Celtic scored with two quick goals through Chalmers and Hughes, the second one being a great individual effort by the big Celtic winger who beat two players with great close control before scoring.

Dundee always tried hard to go forward and they never gave up with the two McLeans, George and Jim, being their best players.

In the second half Lennox scored after a glorious long pass from Murdoch and Wallace rounded things off with number five.

Celtic never really got out of third gear but it was a sign of their strength that they could win a final whilst keeping an eye on the forthcoming trip to Buenos Aires and there was low key celebrations afterwards in view of this.
