Review
Connaghan had an exceptional game but the game was over after Hay hit the opener against his home town team.
Celtic struggled in the first half and probably received a rocket from Stein at half time. They came out and scored three quick goals to take the game but the team looked far from ground shaking against Second Division opposition who had played most of the game with 10 men following McLaughlin's sending off after just 35 minutes.
Celtic would meet newly promoted Partick Thistle in the final and were immediately installed at 5-1 favourites to win the Cup.
