Review

A stylish victory. Walker opened the scoring in under a minute. Dunfermiline had no answers to Celtic’s many attacks.

A goal looked likely on each attack. Much of this was down to the form of Joe Miller playing his best game for weeks. It was his 50yd run and cross which led to McAvennie’s scoring header in the 8th minute.

McAvennie’s third was something special. Stark seemed to be getting into trouble on the edge of the box and the ball fell for McAvennie standing with his back turned halfway from the goal. But he pivoted and unleashed a tremendous shot that the keeper Carson never saw. Starks’ 69th minute header emphasised the Bhoys superiority.

This was the best Celtic had played for months.
