Biog

Alex Crawford was an outside-right who signed for Celtic in June 1901, who was said to lack "pluck"!

Signed from Clyde Crawford made his debut in a 1-1 home league draw with Dundee on August 17th. After a loan spell at Morton he retunred to the Bhoys and was a member of the side which won the Ibrox Disaster Trophy in 1902. It is not certain but was argued if it was Alex or Loney who took the corner that led to the goal that won the game for us in extra-time! He got a medal (supplied by Bovril) for the match!

Crawford played a total of 10 times for Celtic and scored three goals.

He left Parkhead in December 1902 to join Partick Thistle.
