BiogDawson, Danny - Pic

Larkhall-born half-back Danny Dawson was a gutsy player whose Celtic career suffered through a knee injury.

It was said of him that "A more whole-hearted player does not exist".

Signed from larkhall Thistle on June 4th 1932 Dawson made his debut in a league clash with Queens Park at Parkhead on September 30th 1933 in which the Bhoys won 3-1. Understudy to Peter Wilson and then Chic Geatons, Dawson was an able and committed deputy but in February 1935 he suffered a knee injury in a cup tie with Partick Thistle that kept him out of the game for over a year and he was suffer further knee problems in 1937.

After 20 appearances and three goals for the Celts he left for Queen of the South in 1938.
