Celtic Career Review
A right sided winger who began his career playing with Avondale United and Cork City's youth team. He came to the attention of Celtic scouts in the area and guested for Willie McStay's youths in a friendly match against his own Cork side on 5/8/99. From his position at right back he unleashed the decisive goal in a 3-2 win for the young hoops and arrangements were ironed out for his move to Glasgow, with a "nominal" sum heading the way of Cork City.
However, he was allowed to return to Cork after just one season at Celtic Park. Given the bad news at the same time as another right-sided prospect, Stephen Miller, possibly due to doubts over the duo's physical capacity for the rigours of SPL football. Back in Ireland Moore cracked Cork City's first team but moved on to Waterford United, again after just one season. He got more games at Waterford but signed for local Munster Senior League outfit Douglas Hall AFC in 2002. A two year spell with Cobh Ramblers was to follow before he returned to Douglas Hall where he continues as captain and talisman.
His late mother Una was an influential presence in Cork's ladies and girls football fraternity.
