Alan Morrison, Stephen Murray, John Paul Dow, Mark Burchill, 1997Alan Morrison was a Youth and Reserve team player with Celtic. He never played a first team representative game for the club.

Born in Ayr, Morrison attended Queen Margaret's School, Ayr. He was signed as a Youth team player on the 1/8/97 and given a two year contract on turning 16 (as were most of the new intake at this time). In his first season me played a decent number of games for the Youths with injuries to Jim Gallagher and McCondichie out on loan. He was part of a representative Celtic Youth side that attended the Bourg Blanc Youth Tournament in April 1998.
Through 1998/99 he was in competion with Jim Gallagher for a starting position with either the Youths or U21's. He still made enough respectable appearances to warrant the club giving him a further two year contract to July 2001 at the end of his first youth deal. His progress continued through 2000/2001 making more appearances without ever looking close to the first team squad.
He was given a 1 year extension to July 2002 and continued with a similar performance as seen the previous season and was released along with a raft of others in May 2002.

He briefly joined Carlisle Utd before returning to Scotland and signing for Clyde on 23/8/02. He was used by Clyde as the Reserve team goalkeeper. Clyde thought quite highly of his performance and he played regularly. His contract was renewed at the end of 02/03 and he continued as Reserve team keeper and understudy to first team GK Halliwell. Out of contract at the end of 04/05 he moved to Stranraer where he was the backup for another ex-bhoy Barry John Corr. On 1/7/06 joined Glenafton and he continues to play for the Junior side.

I've got a programme for the 2000-2001 Final played at Hampden Park on Wed 09.05.2001 between Celtic and Aberdeen. The teams on that day were: Celtic: - Allan Morrison, David van Zanten, Stephen McManus (c), Peter Flynn, John Kennedy, Stephen Jack, Anthony McParland, Mark Fotheringham, Bryan Prunty, Shaun Maloney, Graham Fyfe. Mark Casey came on for Stephen McManus and David Murphy came on for Stephen Jack. Subs not used were Stephen Pinkowski, Craig Beattie and another I didn't get the name of. Named in the squad but not stripped were Troy Douglin, Simon Lynch, Chris Millar and Mark Molloy. Willie McStay was coach.

Aberdeen: - Mark Peat, Stephen Payne, Scott Morrison, Terry Kidd, Kevin McNaughton, Murray McCulloch, Darren Mackie, Ross O'Donoghue, Scott Michie, Fergus Tiernan, Bob Duncan. Alan Carella came on for Terry Kidd. Subs not used were Murray Watson, Calum McKenzie and Calum McHattie. Not stripped were Duncan Jones, Kevin Souter, James Pritchett, Steven Turner, Richie Fraser. Drew Jarvie was coach.

Game finished 0-2 for Aberdeen. Fergus Tiernan scored in the 2nd minute and Scott Michie scored in the 20th minute.

The referee was Charlie Richmond and the Assistant Referees were Scott Brown and Gordon MacKay and the 4th Official was Chris Boyle.
