The Rude Bhoys

Banners - The Rude Bhoys

A basic background is that some members of the Jungle Bhoys walked out during the poppy protest in around 2008 as they disagreed with the other Jungle Bhoys members on their stance not to join in. Therefore from the split they formed the “Rude Bhoys”. All very reminiscent of “Life of Brian” so far.

The group began in and around January 2009 and tried to replicate across the other side of the stadium what the Green Brigade were doing. However, they were unable to keep momentum going with supporters opting for the Green Brigade who were themselves still growing and trying to establish themselves. At the time it was a case for many that it was better one big group than various smaller fragmented ones.

Possibly established too early, and who knows maybe there is room to revitalise the group again one day in time to come.

Their Mission Statement of sorts!

“Rude Bhoys… (Jan 2009)
We are the new group whom have started in 445. Our group is political and left wing anti fascist (although not completely as educated in a lot of this areas to the scale of the Bhoys from the GB are, but hopefully soon will be) but these are traits any Celtic fan should have. we are Bhoys whom have either split from the JB’s or sat in 445, Bhoys who have created atmospheres up in that section to which they get the credit for. After the poppy fiasco I (and the rest of our group) have had our eyes opened to politics within our club. We have also recently felt the heavy handedness of the club stewards and to whom have all been effed off with at being treated like criminals. These are points to which have made us stand up and be counted and let our voices be heard. The JB’s don’t like this and we have now been updated on the fact that they have contacted the club in light of the CURRENT SITUATION in 445 and they would stress to the club that this has NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. Anyway…..

“At the minute its a learning curve, we are walking before we can run. wouldn’t say we are ultras (just yet anyway) as think we will have to earn the right to use this trait, but we will wait and see. At the minute we are a group of m8s with the same attitude be it the way 445 has been in the past (they that shall not be named), to the treatment of fellow Celtic fans (i.e. unofficial flags, how the feck can you get an unofficial Tricolour i will never know) but time for change has been agreed and the ‘Rude Bhoys’ was our course of action. At this time we are working on funds etc (which seem to be going OK) and plans are in action for forthcoming games (watch this space) but as we said any help would and will be appreciated. Yes some of the lads are into ska/reggae whereas the rest liked the anti-racist position of the group at Sampdoria.”
