Celtic v Cowlairs –

The League tie was played at Parkhead before 4000 spectators.

Kelly was replaced by Dolan in the Celtic team. Cowlairs were in full strength. With the sun and the wind, the former scored by Dowds in two minutes, who a few minutes later added another. Cowlairs had very little of the play, their halves failing repeatedly; but no further scoring resulted, and half-time blew with the score – Celtic, two goals; Cowlairs, nil.

Play was much more even in the second half. Gradually the Celtic assumed the aggressive, but Cowlairs defence was wonderfully good. The game was very fast, and neither side seemed able to pierce the other’s defence, and a grand game ended :- Celtic, two; Cowlairs, nil.
