At a meeting of the Glasgow Football Association last night in Glasgow the Celtic asked permission to withdraw Doyle and McMahon from the team to meet Sheffield on Saturday at Glasgow. Mr McLaughlin (Celtic) appeared and said that McMahon, McArthur, Orr, Reynolds and probably Allan would be unable through injuries to take the field on Saturday. His club had only sixteen men signed on, and if Doyle was forced to play against Sheffield the Celtic would only have ten men against Dundee on Saturday. Welford would probably be put in goal, which left the Celtic with one back. The association agreed to free Doyle, who will therefore play against Dundee. The positions vacant in the Glasgow team against Sheffield by the withdrawal of Doyle, McMahon, and McColl (Queen's) were filled by Gillespie and Berry (Queen's), and Paul (Partick Thistle). It was decided that the Rangers and Celtic play their undecided tie on Saturday week, and that the final for the Glasgow Cup take place at Cathkin Park on the 27th. The Celtic are negotiating for a goalkeeper for Saturday's match at Dundee. Their team will be: – Goal (unknown); Doyle and Welford; Goldie, Russell and King; Blessington, Campbell, Allan or Connacher, Gilhooly and Henderson.
