Review
CELTIC 3, QUEEN`S PARK 4(ht=2-1) @ Celtic Park 23/4/1898 ko. 4 o`clock Glasgow League
Celtic were far and away the better side in this League meeting but tossed it away by their own folly. Johnny Campbell headed the home side ahead after quarter of an hour then beat Kenny Anderson again two minutes later and looked home and dry but Bob McColl diverted home a Willie Hamilton shot but Kenny Anderson had to be on his toes to keep out the Parkheaders crisp attacks, Campbell beating him but not the bar. In a break away, Forbes saved from Hamilton and Rob Lambie sprinted in to net the rebound.
A few minutes on and Davie Russell put Celtic back in front with a daisy cutter from fully 30 yards but then Celtic lost the plot; Willie Orr conceded a penalty which infuriated the home players who pulled goalie Forbes away from his posts and let Bob McColl have a free shy at the goal which Toffee Bob accepted with thanks and smilingly tapped in the equaliser.
Celtic piled on the pressure but couldn`t beat Anderson again and in another run upfield Rob Lambie cleared the straggling defence in the final minute to slam home Queen`s winner.
