Review

Played in torrential rain, this game is believed to have been the first game that Celtic played in the "hoops", but the evidence is scant, and there is a strong case for saying that it was the Third Lanark game of two weeks later (see August 29 1903). Today The Scottish Refereedoes say that Celtic had a "youthy" appearance about them.

Funnily enough, by an odd coincidence, another team played their first ever game and they played in green and white hoops. This was East Fife playing a friendly against a Hearts 2nd XI!

In whatever garb, it was a good game played by Celtic, even though they had to wait until the last minute before McMenemy scored the winner.
